What Is Domain Authority, and why is it important?

|Kreativ Street

Domain authority-DA is a search engine ranking score developed by Moz which is taken to predict how likely a website should rank in search engine result pages. It ranges from 1 to 100, such that the higher the score the higher the chance to rank better. Domain authority is based on a number of elements such as the number of backlinks, the quality of the backlinks, and link profile strength.

Understanding DA is important as, for website owners and digital marketers, it is a relative measure for comparing how well their site performs in relation to a site's competitor. High numbers of DA generally mean great credibility and trustworthiness, resulting in increased visibility and traffic. Google does not use DA to determine its ranking; however, it simply reflects factors that influence rankings making it a reasonably good method for SEO campaigns.

To perform better on DA, improvement of the backlink profile of the site through quality content creation, outreach, and creating relationships with other above-the-board sites is obligatory. Regular checking of DA can let an administrator monitor their progress against their objectives and allow for subsequent resolution of any problems.

In summary, Domain Authority is an important metric to evaluate how well a website can rank among SERPs. An increase of this score would mean a business increases its online presence and competitors in similar spheres.
